I applied through an employee referral. The process took 1 week. I interviewed at Insight Global (Chicago, IL) in Nov 2018
Interview
A friend of a friend works for the company as a corporate recruiter and was looking for someone to fill a position - I thought initially it was a good fit and reached out to her. We caught up and chatted and then she gave me an incredibly robotic run down of the company and what they do there.
After the weekend I was asked to come in and I spoke with 3 account managers:
-The first one did not hand me a business card and she checked her nails several times while I was speaking, if I had gone to a state school I probably might've had a flashback to a sorority rush but I went to a business school in the EU so I can't relate. Overall unprofessional tone.
-The second was incredibly kind and friendly, she was relatable and relaxing to speak with
-The third was also incredibly kind and friendly
PROS:
-great incentives and trips
-structured growth based on performance
-$10k bonus after being a recruiter for 6-12 months (before starting what you actually applied for)
CONS:
-You are not given a company card for client entertainment, which is unusual for the nature of the position. They do reimburse you but I don't feel comfortable using my own card.
-You are expected to buy a car if you don't have one by the time you are an account manager, they offer $500 to finance your car per month but when you live in Chicago this is unrealistic when you think about parking, car insurance, salt damage to the paint during the winter, parking at your home which is nearly impossible due to congestion on the streets, and you have to drive this car every day or as often as needed for client entertainment and that's alot of expensive gas
Overall I can see the appeal but this is not for me.
Interview questions [1]
Question 1
I was explicitly told how to dress (business casual, dress the part), how to act (outgoing and bubbly, "likable"), and to ask the interviewer tons of questions
Small talk is the most importantly part of the interview process. They hire soley for personality and drive so if you show you can be natural with conversation that sets you apart.
easy just have to know how to small talk. they look for depth in your answers and how you can push yourself to be better. they just want to see that you can drive the conversation and be curious about the positon. no experience necesarry.. easy but tbh toxic work env iroment
I applied through a recruiter. I interviewed at Insight Global (Dallas, TX) in Apr 2026
Interview
The interview process was like any other interview process with a recruiter. I ended up backing out, but it seems like they want people who are excited about the company and the role.
