If you're in product or engineering, stay away from this company. Extremely unprofessional recruiting process. It's clear they don't care about their candidates or the talent at their company.
First red flag was the Recruiter reached out to me via text message... text messsage.. really? Didn't think of it much at first but out of the 50+ interviews I've given at any credible tech company, the recruiters always interact over email in a professional way.
I went forward for a 45-minute call with the hiring manager. That was good so the process continued.
Next, I had a 2 hour panel with 3 different members of the team (product management, software engineering, QA). That was also well.
At that point, the recruiter called me to confirm my serious interest. I confirmed. The recruiter also mentioned the salary range and asked me my thoughts. I said I was certainly open and the most important thing was the team and the dynamic. I did mention that the market rate I noticed was a bit higher but I was open to it and wanted to have the final interview.
The recruiter said great and mentioned he'd schedule the next round for early next week.
Then BOOM. Ghosted.
Recruiter never reached back out even after I followed up a couple of times to inquire on my status. I even emailed the hiring manager (who opened my email 20+ times) but never responded either.
After a candidate has spent 3+ hours on interviews, this is such a poor way to treat a candidate.
I assume they ghosted me because I knew I had been lowballed. Fine, whatever. But at least have the professionalism and respect of your candidates to let them know that it's not a match or that you won't be moving forward.
TLDR: Terrible, unprofessional recruiting experience. Will lowball you, then ghost you even at the END of the interview process rather than saying "Sorry, it's not a match."
