I applied online. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at Intuit (San Francisco, CA) in Nov 2019
Interview
I interviewed for the seasonal tax expert position for CPAs and practicing attorneys. The process was extremely easy - one phone call with the recruiter and a video interview/ knowledge test with 20 multiple choice tax questions. I do not think I even had to submit my resume. My impression was that they did not really care about your actual tax expertise but were just trying to hire enough people to answer phone calls. Even though the initial recruiter promised a flexible schedule, they actually required a fixed schedule for the whole tax season with 20 hours minimum a week with each shift a minimum of four hours. They provide a laptop and a headset and you are not allowed to use your own computer or WiFI (wired connection only), so do not even bother applying if you live in a building with central WiFi and do not have access to a router/ modem. There is also a strict dress code even though it is a work from home position. With all these requirements, it felt more like a call center job rather than a job for an experienced CPA. In the end, I did not think it was a good for an experienced professional and declined the offer.

Question 1
Erik took a $5,000 distribution from his ROTH IRA to pay for a vacation to celebrate his 40th birthday. Since he opened the account 10 years ago, he has contributed $28,500. Will he have to pay any taxes on this distribution?
Jamie is filing as single and has the following expenses for 2018: $9,250 mortgage interest, $10,350 state/local income taxes and real estate taxes, $500 charitable donations, $2,000 unreimbursed employee expenses. How much will Jamie’s federal itemized deductions total?
Video questions w/ recorded answers. 90 minute long assessment. It was a total of 20+ questions. Only 2 were multiple choice. There were 4 situational questions that required a typed statement of your response to the client, etc. I felt like I didn’t have enough time to be as thorough as I would have liked but I am a fast typer, so my answer was sufficient.
