      Product Manager Interview

      10 Sept 2025
      Anonymous interview candidate
      Irvine, CA
      No offer
      Negative experience
      Average interview

      Application

I applied through a recruiter. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at Jiffy.com (Irvine, CA) in Jul 2025

      Interview

Pretty terrible experience. Felt fast with lots of energy at first, even a little chaotic. But I liked that energy and hustle. Interviews didn't really care too much about my experience and expertise and focused on a "culture" fit of hustle and velocity. Was given a homework assignment that was essentially "do a week's worth of work in 48 hours that we could use in our roadmap if we like it." Consisted of a researching a new product vertical, proposing a well rounded strategy, designing the new product, presenting the strategy to leadership for alignment as well as designs in a PRD for development. A very intense project for a homework assignment. Best part? It was NEVER discussed. Not a single part of it was discussed and I had interviews with 5 people after it was due. Received a ton of positive feedback and was pretty excited. After that, they completely ghosted me. I've followed up with recruiters, hiring managers, even sent a personal note to a leader in the CSuite who interviewed me. Not a single response. Turns out they are a bunch of smoke and mirrors with energy and chaos and not much real direction and execution. The homework was clearly an assignment fishing for ideas to steal and was not genuine to evaluate me to join the team. I know I dodged a MAJOR bullet.
