I applied online. The process took 1 week. I interviewed at Kubermatic (Hamburg) in Mar 2022
Interview
TL;DR - They pay way below other Hamburg-based companies. I am living in Eastern Europe and have lower cost of living, they still felt like I asked a lot. I had an initial round with the Talent Acquisition Manager. TL;DR is that she asked about the annual salary expectations from the get-go and I was very straightforward about what kind of salary I would consider switching jobs for. I was informed that I was reaching for the maximum budget available for the role but we both decided we would continue the process. I got a home-test assignment with very straightforward and precise instructions and constraints from their technical lead. I went above and beyond in every single way I can think of and submitted the project a week later. I'm pretty sure I demonstrated Angular mastery in every single way, but they begged to differ. I got a rejection letter a few days after I submitted the home project, without any explanation.
Interview questions [1]
Question 1
Behavioral questions from the Talent Acquisition Manager. She summed up what Kubermatic was looking for for the role and we both aligned on each other's expectations.
Interview process is alright but I do believe they could do better. Do not demand for a lot when hiring for an entry level and again interview process is long.
I applied through an employee referral. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at Kubermatic (Berlin) in Jul 2022
Interview
An initial quick call with the recruiter.
A technical interview with senior engineer involving questions around linux, k8's and networking. Also a live coding round with 2 questions that could be easy/medium difficulty based on the experience of candidate.
Then a take home assignment and a final call to review code with senior engineer.
