Interview
I applied on indeed and got a message to do a virtual interview the next day. I was in an interview with two people because the person interviewing me was fairly new. She asked me a bunch of questions that I listed below when they senior HR representative found out that I was going to school to also be an HI was in an interview with two people because they person interviewing me was fairly new. She asked me a bunch of questions that I listed below when they senior HR representative found out that I was going to school to also be an HR he took over for a bit and asked me questions on if I could essentially be his informant for behavior at the Oak Harbor location. He stated that the people working there that work with the children were talking instead of doing their job and that the center was not doing well because the RBT’s were doing anything with their job. He also asked if I was comfortable transferring people to HR if they call off and don’t have a minimum amount of hours completed for the week. I needed a job so I just answered yes and later on that day, they hired me. The next day they sent me all the paperwork. I need to fill out and send back to them so I did that immediately by the end of the day. This was June 3rd. I couldn’t start till the 16th and I told him this in the interview and they had no issues with it. The week before I start, they sent me all the modules that I was supposed to do and that on Monday (June 16th) they would set me up on a zoom meeting for orientation/training. Well, the week before the 16th I finished all my documents, I completed all my learning modules in good faith, knowing that I had been hired, and I even turned in my I-9 to get paid. Well, the Friday before the 16th I was messaged that they would have to postpone my start date and then I would know more on the 16th when he contacts me. The 16th came around and there is no communication from anyone. I waited a whole week and there was still no communication from anyone. I would not receive any communication for almost 2 weeks and the HR manager emailed me that due to internal restructuring. My offer has been withdrawn. I am very fortunate to not need a job to survive so I’m glad it happened to me, but had it been someone who could have really needed this position to live, I believe this company does not care about you or your time. This shows clear miscommunication and leaving me in the dark, which I should’ve picked up more on due to the questions I was being asked in the interview, not by the new employee, but the senior HR representative. Do not apply to this place. They do not care about you or your time. I can understand unexpected bumps in the road when it comes to business, but leaving a Candidate out in the dark and essentially ghosting them for almost 2 weeks is terrible. Compensation should be given for my time doing the modules as they were completed in good faith as I thought I was hired. Don’t apply here if you wish to have a job after being hired because they’ve shown they clearly don’t care if you need the job or not. It’s already extremely hard to get a job on this island so this is just terrible practice.
Interview questions [3]
Question 1
Q: Do you feel comfortable keeping RBT’s in check and get them to actually do their jobs instead of talking upfront?
Q: If someone tries to call out and they have not met their minimum hours for the week are you comfortable saying “hold on” and transferring them to HR?

It was a fairly quick interview with the president and former biller. I was offered the job on the spot and it was clear the were desperately in need of a biller.
