This review is for the recruitment company, Linqm, not the company I was recruited for. The process started with a message on another professional social network site, where the recruiter did the typical sales pitch and inflated the opportunity. Details looked interesting, so I took a follow-up phone call with the recruiter where I laid out my current situation and skillset and he talked more about the opportunity and salary. He mentioned 2 numbers that were 5 and 10k more than my current job, and I said that sounded great and I'd love to move forward. The next day I went into the interview with the actual company and later that night learned that I got the job. Problem is, the salary offered was 5k lower than my current job. Not being very happy with the low-ball offer, I contacted the recruiter the next morning and he mentioned that he'd already discussed the salary with the company and they would match my current job. This was still frustrated as I wasn't trying to make a horizontal money move and the initial salary mentioned at the new job was 5-10k more than my current job. Anyway, this really turned me off but was still seriously considering the position until a barrage of email and text messages flooded my phone throughout the day from the recruiter. Like a desperate ex-significant other. If it weren't for the incessant, desperate, text messages and unnecessarily aggressive tone and approach, I probably would've taken the job.
