I applied through university. The process took 3 weeks. I interviewed at Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory (Livermore, CA) in Dec 2015
Interview
I was on site for about 6 hours. First my hiring supervisor and his supervisor gave me a general explanation about the organization. Then I gave a powerpoint presentation to a room of about 10 other engineers for 45 minutes about my experience and projects from school. They in turn asked questions concerning my skill level and interests. I received a tour of NIF (National Ignition Facility) and was amazed. Then I had another interview with 3 engineers who I would be working with asking me technical questions. The next morning I received an email saying that they were going to extend a job offer if I passed an initial security clearance and I accepted a few weeks later after receiving the formal offer over the phone.

Question 1
What thinking process or series of steps would you go through if you were operating a stepper motor and you encounter one of the four leads to the stepper motor was in some way damaged or disconnected but you don't know how or why. You can't look to see or try to fix it, so what would you do from a control standpoint to look into the issue.
