LUSH Christmas staff interviews are first done in groups. I got a call in August to come to an interview at 6pm the following night. I went and I was with a few people about 10. We started off by introducing ourselves and a had to say fun Fact about us. The manager then welcomed us and talked briefly about the company. We then got split into groups of 3 and played some group building activities. We really didn't have many questions asked as this interview was to look at our personalities. A note to remember you have to try and out shine everyone to get the job they look for outgoing people. Having a bright and bubbly attitude is key. First we had to put together a little gift pack and then name the pack. We also had to do a demo using a massage bar and trying to sell it to another person in the group. Finally in our groups of 3 one person was blind folded and the other two had to direct the first person to build a little house using card board and whoevers cardboard house stayed up won! This was a very different interview I have experienced. Over all it was a pretty fun experience! The manager told us she would ring us the next few days if we would go through the next stage or not. She did ring (unlike some other jobs they promise to ring but they don't) She was so nice even though didn't get the job I had an awesome time at the interview meet some nice people and didn't feel judged unlike some other interviews.
It was a group interview, very unconventional, hands-on, and activity-based, teamwork. They expect you to know their company values and ethics, which will carry over to your role. It was very relaxed and they made me feel very comfortable and heard.
I applied online. I interviewed at Lush (London, England)
Interview
Was offered an interview and it was fairly casual - in the cafe, and it only lasted around 45 minutes. Pretty much immediately after I was offered a trial shift, and I went and it was kind of horrible because we didn’t know anything about the products, and it also wasn’t very busy so it felt like we were competing with each other to get a customer’s attention, only to not even be able to give them proper information and just have to guess. It was a bit embarrassing and we didn’t get paid either, but we got a free shower gel. I found out I got the job on the way home from the trial shift.
I applied in-person. I interviewed at Lush (Cardiff, Wales)
Interview
Onboarding session and then a practice shift which involved you sitting customers down and demonstrating products on them. Lasts around an hour, and it’s done in groups of trial shifts.
