      Creative Designer Interview

      5 Sept 2014
      Anonymous employee
      Accepted offer
      Positive experience
      Difficult interview

      Application

I applied online. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at Mapjects

      Interview

Applied on this site, some interviews were in the office, and others are at a noisy starbucks or a mall - this was deliberate to see how well focused, yet relaxed I was. [Must have a solid grasp of fundamental concepts of graphic design principles Intermediate skills designing for web/tablet/mobile Strong skills in the Adobe Creative Suite (Adobe Photoshop and Illustrator) Strong skills in Microsoft PowerPoint and Word.] The process had 3 Steps, after I applied with my resume, and included some artifacts around .AI and PSD files. I decided to submit those vector files to show them, that the artwork was my own, and it had good practices (bonus points). Just when I forgot, in 2 or 3 weeks, I got a follow up and a call. It was odd, because rather than asking what I could provide, they asked me what I was looking for! Later, they told me, with what I submitted it was clear what I could do. So, when I asked for remoter work, they agreed with a couple of conditions. Steps, 1 and 2 were basic screening questions. The last was more a discovery process on how well we fit, and what I could do to help them.

      Interview questions [1]

      Question 1

      1) How can you give Mapjects a unique, and well aligned... **** "good fit messaging" *** on our OneVIew PMO, 360 Spend, and TRACK products to ensure our customers understand what we do succinct? 2) What would you change about your branding approach, regarding product brochures, example packaging, leaflets, brochures, business cards? 3) What can you do differently for us, from the average designer and how would it help Mapjects?
