I applied online. The process took 1 day. I interviewed at Marshalls (Folsom, CA) in Mar 2017
Interview
I applied online and later got a call for an interview and was asked to bring my resume. When I got there, the manager asked me if I had my resume and job application. I told her that I didn't have a job application because I applied online, that was my job application, so afterwards she made me fill in another print application. During my interview with her, the manager was very stoic and by the tone of her voice, one could assume she really hated her job. I was having a major anxiety attack with the person interviewing me. Whenever I replied to something and she didn't like it, she'd sigh and ignore whatever I said and just moved on to another question.
After the interview was over, she told me that "I get a lot of applications and we're always hiring people every two weeks." Then she got up and asked me to give her the application and resume in my hands, and that was it. (She never took it from me until the end of the interview.) I knew I didn't get the job, and I'm glad I didn't, because I was hard to even talk to that person.
Phone interview (30 min max.), then proceeded to second in-person interview at applied location.
Decent interviews, but found that they valued people who wouldn't realize that they favor older staff who won't try to change anything internally (even obvious cleaning/safety standards/time expectations).
I applied online. I interviewed at Marshalls (Woodhaven, MI) in Oct 2025
Interview
Marshalls shares their career portal with Home Goods and TJ Maxx. Be very careful that you are applying to the right store and location. Afterwards, you will get a call fairly quickly to set up an interview. Usually only one manager handles the interviews, so you may not hear back on follow-ups for awhile if that person is off of work. Follow up as needed or you may get forgotten about.
