      QA Analyst Interview

      21 Jun 2018
      Anonymous interview candidate
      Vancouver, BC
      No offer
      Negative experience
      Difficult interview

      Application

I applied online. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at Meetingmax (Vancouver, BC) in May 2018

      Interview

Phone interview went well. Called for in person interview with the CEO. The worst interview I have ever experienced. I would never accept a job in this company, don't let the slippers fool you, there is no comfort level.

      Interview questions [1]

      Question 1

Wanted to know everything about about my personal life since I was born. Absolutely inappropriate! Tell me a bad experience, something bad in your childhood, tell me something bad about your teenage years and so on. Totally put on the spot and sets you up for failure. Even you you don't answer these questions, they invokes memories that you may not want to surface during a job interview. This has no relevance to any QA job. Asked for manager/supervisor names from the beginning of time. Really, I'm should remember the first and last name of my supervisor from 2000?

Thank you for your feedback regarding your interview. In our experience, we have found that obtaining a deep understanding of each candidate's background allows us to identify which candidates will be most successful in our organization. This involves asking questions about candidates’ education, early years and work history in order to better understand how these experiences have shaped them into the person that they are today. We recognize that this might be different from the interview process at other companies, but we do it to ensure that the person we hire is right for the role and that the role is right for that person. We thank you for your interest in working with Meetingmax and wish you all the best in the future.

Thank you kindly for your feedback. While we work as quickly as we can to get back to all shortlisted candidates, at times, various things might get in the way of a faster response. These may include the schedules of the other candidates who are being considered and even the schedule of our hiring team itself. It is our policy not to announce to other applicants we have a selected candidate until we have confirmation from that candidate that they have accepted our offer. This sometimes takes a couple of weeks. We very much appreciate your interest in our organization and hope you find the perfect fit!
