I applied in-person. I interviewed at Meta (Menlo Park, CA) in Feb 2017
Interview
Got an email from a member of the team who had seen my resume. Then 30 minutes phone call with a recruiter who asked about my background and skills to decide what interviewer should be assigned to me. Next was a 45minutes skype interview which I passed and made it to on-site.
I was supposed to make a 45min presentation on a feature that I would like to add to Facebook and explain step by step how I design, test, and decide to launch that feature. The presentation was followed by three 1:1 interviews with three members of the team; one statistician, one product manager, and one person who worked on ads and just asked me cultural questions like what did you learn from your internship or what would you do if you miss a deadline.
I had a really good feeling after the interviews and thought I did well but I did not get an offer and I still have no idea what went wrong as Facebook has a policy against providing feedback.
Interview questions [1]
Question 1
Choose an app that is not a facebook app and tell us why you like it and what is not good about it. I chose Twitter and got asked the Twitter has had a flat growth rate in the past year, why do you think that is and how would you test that. Also a lot of questions regarding how you would choose survey audience and difficulties of that.
I applied through other source. I interviewed at Meta
Interview
Phone screen followed by virtual interview with hiring manager followed by full loop (several interviews on a single day). The recruiter was very helpful in targeting the right role. The hiring manager was quite rude and asked bad questions that could not really have helped assess qualifications for position.

Interview
You have an initial interview, followed by a 4 hour 'full loop' interview. It's quite a difficult process and the interviews are mainly back-to-back. It's not really a 2 step process as the second step is 4 45 min interviews.
