      Software Developer Interview

      21 Jun 2018
      Anonymous interview candidate
      Vienna
      No offer
      Negative experience
      Average interview

      Application

The process took 2+ months. I interviewed at Mimo (Vienna)

      Interview

At first, I had a video call where I basically talked about myself and my previous experiences. At the end, I was assigned a coding test. After sending my solution, I got asked a few questions about my implementation and I promptly answered them. After that, it just went on total silence from their side. So, I waited for a couple of weeks and asked politely for a feedback. No reply whatsoever. I understand that it can be overwhelming interviewing several candidates,  as I have gone through this myself. But, I find it quite unprofessional to not provide a feedback to candidates. Doesn't matter the results, it is always good to have a closure and, if possible, to have some feedback on what wasn't so great so people can improve. Candidates spend hours doing coding challenges, I believe it's fair enough to at least have some return.  It only takes a few minutes to write a simple reply e-mail. I was very excited when I first saw the position and read more about the company. I strongly believe in the genuine goal and objective of the company, but in the end, I honestly got pretty bummed by this behavior. For a startup full of young and smart people, I guess I expected more.
