      Data Warehouse Engineer Interview

      6 Oct 2011
      Anonymous interview candidate
      Pittsburgh, PA
      No offer
      Negative experience
      Average interview

      Application

The process took 3 weeks. I interviewed at ModCloth (Pittsburgh, PA) in Jun 2011

      Interview

This started off as a great opportunity, but quickly went downhill. I spoke to the internal recruiter and she was impressed. Although she didn't have much information on the job. I ended up taking a skills test and was asked to come in for an interview. I scheduled the interview, but had to contact them a couple days prior to see if I was still coming because I wasn't given any details. I ended up speaking with three individuals. Two were technical and they couldn't even tell me what was expected of the position. One of the guys was giving me grief for not having Ruby on Rails experience even though the job description didn't state that. I felt like they just wanted some free advice from interview candidates. The recruiter was going on maternity leave soon, so she said to email if I didn't hear anything. I waited a couple weeks, sent an email and found out that nothing had been discussed. They got back to me in a couple of days saying I didn't get the job. I was very disappointed in the process and the fact that they did not know what they wanted.
