      Interview

A bit let down by this interview process considering the overall reviews for the company. I had a first screening interview via a phone call. However, when the time came no call was received, prompting me to email and confirm that it was still going ahead. I then received the call 10 minues later. Not the best impression but I assumed it was a minor blip on their side. I made it through to the next interview with the hiring manager which was a competency based question style interview and an assessment of my motivations. At the end of the interview, they said they would let me know by the end of the day, if not the next day. However, they never contacted me after that. Having interviewed twice, I would have expected some kind of response and some feedback, no matter how they decided to progress. Pretty poor candidate experience and would expect better.

      Question 1

      What draws you to Mollie?
      Answer question
      I applied online.
      The process took 4 weeks.

      Interview

The company portrays itself to be one of the 'new' leading Fintech companies trying to change the way online payments and making it easier. It always advertises its diversity and inclusion in the team not to mention how it has grown over the years. The marketing team is all over the place with it's presence on many of the career websites including LinkedIn trying to be very inclusive. My negative experience comes after waiting for over a month to hear from them even though the auto generated e-mail I received mentioned I'd get a response within 2 weeks. Keeping the current pandemic situation I understand it took over 2 weeks, but more than a month goes to show how important applications are to them. It always portrays the company might not be as interesting as it portrays itself to be. Qualifications, experience, know-how, etc., are qualities that were completely ignored in my application. Mollie also recommends the applicant to go through the 'Glassdoor' feedbacks to gauge if it's doing a great job. Being a start-up and seeing it grow is one thing, but please value the time and effort of applicants trying to be a part of your 'so called' game changing company.
