A long and drawn out process, multiple interviews, role paying etc. Long gaps between interviews. Lots of form filling at the start, saying why you want the role, various tests too.
Interview questions [1]
Question 1
How do you deal with a client who thinks that you are charging too much for no return?
I applied online. I interviewed at NFU Mutual Agency Network (Birmingham, England) in Feb 2021
Interview
Mundane, unoriginal and a lack of engagement. Was firstly rejected by email after being told I am not of interest and then received a call saying they changed their mind. Was asked to complete a research task about challenges within the insurance industry and how NFU mutual can respond to it. It was clear at the end of the presentation that I should've just C + P what was on their website and told them how great they were rather than how they can potentially get marginally more efficient (save on running costs and increase profitability).
Zero diversity amongst team members and clearly no desire to hide it because being the only non-english candidate of the day, one of the executives decided to draw me out in front of everyone on the online chat about the pronunciation of my name (even though an infant could read it off the screen). This made me feel extremely uncomfortable from the start and confirmed the previous glassdoor reviews I read about a lack of diversity.
Received a rejection phone call with the only feedback being "it didn't do it for us" brilliant constructive criticism after I spent 2 months waiting for a reply and 50 hours+ on the presentation. Would not recommend NFU mutual to any aspiring graduates as they clearly have a lack of comprehension or common decency.
