I applied online. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at National Life Group in Jan 2017
Interview
The first part was a phone interview with someone from HR. The second interview was with the hiring manager. After that I heard nothing for two weeks. I e-mailed HR for a status update and was ignored. Interviewing by no means guarantees a person the job, but it entitles them to some communication of their status. I guess I dodged a bullet considering the lack of professionalism displayed by the company.

I applied online. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at National Life Group (Dallas, TX)
Interview
The first part was a phone interview with a HR representative. The second interview was with the hiring manager. After a month, I was called for an in-person interview that was 2 ½ hours. A few days after the interview, I was contacted by HR and asked to provide references. The following week HR contacted me again and I was scheduled for an interview with the AVP. A few days after that interview, HR called and left a voicemail stating that they were moving forward with other candidates for the position. I called and left a voicemail asking if I could receive feedback on my candidacy. I never received a response. I understand that the job was not guaranteed. However, after spending over a month and a half of interviewing, providing references and a work sample, I would at least expect a response. A little empathy goes a long way. Keep in mind that candidates invest time, effort and finances into preparing for interviews. When a candidate provides time to be interview, they deserve feedback. Don’t leave candidates hanging, give them closure.

Question 1
What are some of your weaknesses? Why do you think you are qualified for the position? Why did you leave your last position?
I applied online. I interviewed at National Life Group (Montpelier, VT) in Sept 2017
Interview
Phone interview followed by multiple, same-day in person interviews. Phone interview was basic and behavioral. In person interviews were fairly varied depending on the interviewer’s style. Some were very focused on resume points and others just wanted to have a conversation. There was a big emphasis on culture.
