The telephone interview was smooth and had expected questions. The technical interview with the hiring manger was by far, the best one out of the three interview rounds I had with this company.
I have a plethora of complaints for this process, by the way.
1. Firstly, the very first interaction left a negative impression. I was provided with an incorrect link for the first tech interview. Cancelled that day, because HR was 'done for the day and had logged out'. This in itself indicates a lack of attention to detail. Unbelievable.
2. Anyway, the first tech interview was scheduled for the week after and went smoothly. I honestly, loved the HM. He asked me questions that were really interesting and was overall, a pleasant guy. He seemed to know his stuff too!
3. The interview process itself was poorly managed. The two-week wait - and getting back to me only after I reached out multiple times - for any communication after multiple interviews is unprofessional and inconsiderate of a candidate's time and effort. The HR was so inconsiderate, wouldn't respond to emails, and did minimal work. If you dislike your job so much, please let it go. There are plenty of TA folks out there who would appreciate it.
Moving forward, I have no bad blood with the development team folks. I would have loved the development team, I'm sure.
I'm very disappointed with the HR though. I urge you guys to thoroughly re-evaluate your candidate communication practices and screening procedures. And might I suggest a training program for the HR folks? Maybe, teach them to be considerate and how to do their job. Seriously, it doesn't hurt a soul to be kind and compassionate. Remember the tides turn, what goes around comes around.
It's also important to be empathetic and value people's time, energy and feelings. I am very disappointed in the process, and I hope your company will be more humane with other applicants.
