      Application

I applied through a recruiter. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at NetApp (Bengaluru) in May 2015

      Interview

I was initially contacted by a recruiter and checked with him if i would be interested, post confirmation she had put my profile to her seniors for screening and later was contacted by her colleague to scheduled first round of telephonic round, after 1 week i was contacted with an update that i got selected for second round and it was face to face with two Escalation specialists after 5 days post confirmation for the 2nd round of interview. I was onsite at Netapp office and met with hiring manager initially and i was explained the further process & project manager who was more interested in my previous experience and if i am fine with rotational shifts and can lead a team post started interview with escalation specialists it was really a nice experience that i was in a conference room with them while they were asking questions related to SAN & NAS they were expecting me to draw diagrams and explain on a white board and it was fun. There were lot of cross questions for the same answer and they were testing my logical thinking and how quick i can provide a solution. They took interview for about 2 Hrs 30 mins and post i met with the hiring manager again, he was interested how soon i can join and my expected salary. I could sense post meeting with him that he was not happy with the salary expectation as he indirectly told they might not pay that much for the role. On the same day i got a confirmation call from Netapp to check the availability the coming week to speak with the global technical director and confirmed the timings. I was called by senior director of support and the call lasted about 45 mins and he was more interested in my previous experience and customer handling and few examples where i could feel proud resolving customer escalations. Once the process got completed, i did not hear any feedback from Netapp for couple of days and i had to follow up with them over e-mail to see what is the update. I got a call from a hr recruiter and told me that i was selected and completed all the rounds of interview and they would like to take it forward with the offer and i was asked to send the details they had requested in a form earlier. Post i was contacted by another recruiter and she said the care considering me for a higher profile and would like to take one more round of technical round and in a short call about 10-15 mins but i had never received the call and was informed the recruiter that i did not get any call, she called me in the same evening and conveyed that they would not like to go further with any technical rounds and they are satisfied with the earlier round of interview and advised me to wait for couple of days and their HR manager would call me up and discuss about salary. I was waiting for netapp to contact and to my shock i had received a mail with Regret note and i was completely surprised and i did not bother to contact the recruiter to find out the reason but felt bit bad and that was least expected from Netapp.
