Hi there! I totally understand the desire to want it to be more personal, and there are a few reasons we do it this way!
1. It's more convenient to candidates - meaning you can interview on your time, not someone elses, and get a fast response so you're not left in limbo.
2. Once someone has submitted their resume and applied we happily take requests for calls to discuss it if someone asks us in the chat bubble, and we also answer questions over chat and email prior to applying if that's ever a concern, so this makes it as personal as the candidate wants it to be. Some people like a self-serve platform, others, like you, are more traditional! :)
3. Due to the volume of candidates we get, for us to continue to grow at our current pace, we simply need a system like this, so it cannot be optional. Ironically, if it were, we may not even be growing at such a rate and you wouldn't even have wanted to apply as a result!
Anyways, thank you so much for taking the time to apply. We really appreciate it, and it's unfortunately that it wasn't the right fit. We are not a traditional company.
