I applied in-person. The process took 6 months. I interviewed at Northern Inyo Hospital (Bishop, CA)
Interview
I was taken into Administrative Meeting Room in May of 2005 where I was positioned across from the DON and beside my would-be nurse manager. The DON asked questions that were totally inappropriate for an interview. She cowled at me and was most offensive. She insulted my person and my professionalism from two other jobs she was aware I had assumed in the small town of Bishop, CA, even asking me why the SNF I had most recently worked at would not take the hospital's overflow patients, insinuating I was responsible for this restriction - which I was not. I was not even in the state at the time she was referring to.

Question 1
"How can you sit there and say to me or any other nurse that the dialysis patient population is manipulative and sometimes hostile?
How do you think you are going to function in the clinical setting since you have been in management for the last eight years; I know those shoes that you wear in those roles and I don't believe you are prepared to give safe care to any patient here at NIH."
I applied in-person. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at Northern Inyo Hospital (Bishop, CA) in May 2013
Interview
Two management interviewers who took turns asking questions and taking notes. However, all along they knew who they wanted to hire, so although the interview was professional and went well, the outcome was strange. They soon sent a "thanks for your interest, but..." letter. Then their pre-selected candidate failed the background check and I guess I was top of the heap after that. Once they offered me the job, they immediately did a background check and detailed preemployment physical and I was hired quickly.
