Question 1
I was asked to present a project I ran end to end.
I applied through a recruiter. The process took 2 months. I interviewed at Noyo (San Francisco, CA) in Aug 2023
Interview
Delayed, scattered, unprofessional... honestly, perhaps the worst experience I've had in the interviewing realm! Pretty much everything was a "new process" for them. They said, "oh, we aren't going to make you do the python BE challenge and we are going to create a new challenge that aligns with the stack you're comfortable with" and then they sent me a full-stack, only frontend-coding challenge after I made it clear that I am comfortable with the python challenge, whatever it may be (I'm a BE-leaning engineer, so this made no sense to me). They also kept stringing me along with a, "we will have the challenge ready tomorrow ... in two days ... soon" and then at the last time, I stopped responding and they promised it would be done the following day... 8 days later, I get an email about the now-ready challenge. A bit of a joke, really. In hindsight, I should've just not done it, but I did and when it finally came time to review/expand on it in a peer session... only frontend related items and the manager said, "we can't really do the backend portion because I think there's a bug with it." Side note: recruiter kept sending me the BE challenge alongside the fullstack challenge and saying "you need to know the BE challenge, blah blah blah." The two challenges are entirely separate and unrelated. When I tried to make that clear to her, she rebuffed, saying that I was misunderstanding when, in fact, she was the one who didn't gather the requirements and post them correctly in the email.
