The recruiter called a month after I applied and that part of the process was standard. Then I had a very frank interview/conversation with the existing engineer and a contractor, followed by an interview with the head of product. At my request, they found time for me to meet with the CEO because it was made clear to me from the existing employees (and the other glassdoor reviews) that a culture change was necessary, and in my experience, a culture change *has* to come with buy in from the top. Unfortunately, I didn't get that impression of buy in from the CEO, who kept doubling down that the only issue was that they had hired poorly before and now they had hired better people... without being able to define what "better" meant, despite my asking the question a few different times in different ways. (His answer also contradicted things I was told by the one engineer that didn't quit.) While it's true that I likely would have turned down any offer given to me after that conversation, this is where it gets unprofessional on OneOme's part and prompted me to leave a review. After all those interviews, once I talked to the CEO, I was simply ghosted and never even given a courtesy "We've decided to go in another direction" email from HR. I had a competing offer anyway, which I have happily taken, but the ghosting took OneOme from a company I might have kept an eye on for the future to one that I feel it necessary to anti-recommend.
