I applied online. I interviewed at Optiver (Adelaide) in Jul 2024
Interview
My interviewer was nice and friendly. They mainly ask how you respond to negative feedback, handle conflicts, work with people, learn from mistakes, etc. There were no particularly tricky questions, mostly commonly seen ones. I received the feedback and results right at the end of my interview. This was only the first round of Behavioural interviews, you still have to pass 2 more rounds to get an offer.

Interview
As soon as my CV reached them, I had 7 days to complete a HackerRank and 2 more tests. It took them from Monday morning (when I submitted the coding test) to Wednesday evening to reply.
Interview questions [1]
Question 1
Was a Hacker Rank average but difficult, then a CS questions in multiple choice and finally some kind of minigames.
After I applied, I received an online assessment shortly. It was hacker-rank styled. I had only 2 choices of language - C++ and Java. A bit difficult than average, but doable with a lot of practice.
The original assessments consisted of:
- A coding test (1 hard question) which takes approx. 75 minutes
- A coding knowledge quiz
- Zap-N, a set of short neuro assessment games
