      Software Engineer - Intermediate Interview

      24 Feb 2026
      Anonymous interview candidate
      Irving, TX
      Declined offer
      Negative experience
      Average interview

      Application

I applied online. I interviewed at Orion180 (Irving, TX) in Feb 2026

      Interview

The reviews are true. Avoid this place. I have 4 years of experience building full-stack production systems with their exact tech stack (C#, .NET, React, Azure, SQL). I applied for a mid-level position and passed the technical interview. Then things got weird. Round 2, the manager said my backend experience “may be lacking” and asked if I’d consider a junior position. Round 3, the director said he’d probably only offer junior because they want 3-4 years with their exact stack. When I asked what specific areas I was lacking, answers were vague. After round 3, I clarified with the recruiter that I applied for mid-level and wasn’t interested in junior. Recruiter called back saying they want to make an offer and asked me to remind him of my salary expectations, seeming to test if I’d go lower than what I originally stated. He then said the role would be “junior level but upper end, close to mid-level.” Four days later, automated rejection email. To reiterate they called me, told they were going to make an offer (with nothing formally written), then I receive 4 days later an automated email saying they were moving on with other candidates... after 4 interviews. Email communication throughout with the recruiter was poor. Only responded to me when he needed something. Never acknowledge any follow up emails I sent after each of the 4 interviews. Avoid this place. You are better.
