in depth interview via telephone. the senior consultant talked to me for about one hour and explained the job. He asked about my clinical skills and experience. He then explained the pay scale. We were paid for each claim we reviewed. He explained the training process and the intern period during training. He explained that we would be working for the insurance companies and not the patients. It was our job to determine if the claim was valid, according to insurance plan guidelines. he wanted to be sure that I understood this and I would be comfortable doing this, as we are often at odds with the insurance companies, as clinicians.
