I applied through a staffing agency. The process took 3 weeks. I interviewed at Parasuco
Interview
Very unfair interview process. I started with a call with an agency who wanted to send my profile, then had a call with the VP, and was given an assignment to work on at home. I finished the assignment and got called into an in-person interview, where overall I felt I was given positive feedback. Then they were pushing me to come in to the office to work a half day, I was working full-time and was going through personal issues, so it was difficult for me to find the time to come in. I told them this, and tried to negotiate coming in for just an hour, and they weren't willing, I had to come in for the half day. At this point I was feeling like it wasn't worth it and I wasn't being respected, but the agency convinced me that I was very likely to get the job, so I reluctantly agreed. I took a half day unpaid off work to come in, and overall it went well and I got positive feedback from the team. Then I had one final interview with the president, and they decided not to hire me. At this point, I had done five interviews, a tech pack, and three sketches. I had done actual WORK for them for FREE as part as the interview process, all they gave me in return was a sweater that took me over a year to sell on Poshmark for $25. It's not about not being hired, it's the fact they never reimbursed me for my time or respected my concerns about coming into the office for a half day. It's my fault for not standing up for myself, but clearly they took advantage of me and got free work in the interview process. I'm glad I didn't get hired, seems like I dodged a bullet.
Interview questions [1]
Question 1
The interview questions were pretty standard about my experience, and we had an open dialogue about the company, the culture, the expectations. They also made me work on a tech pack at home, and come into the office to make 3 sketches.
I applied online. I interviewed at Parasuco (Mississauga, ON) in Jan 2018
Interview
Casual, easy to understand, discussed perks and allowed me to get an understanding of culture and what basic expectations were of the role. all in all a good experience; I did not accept the position after the interview was concluded as I was interested with another opportunity.
