The interview process was fairly standard and moved at a reasonable pace. It included multiple rounds with cross functional stakeholders and a mix of behavioral and role specific questions. Communication was generally clear, and interviewers were professional and prepared. While the process felt somewhat unstructured at times, overall it was a decent experience and provided a good sense of the role and team

Question 1
How do you balance long term vision with short term delivery?
It was a very tedious process where i was asked to submit my thoughts on how the AI tooling could be done within the company and after i submitted a detailed presentation which took a lot of effort, they told me they will let me know when the role will officially open up- and it has been 3 months since. No word yet.

My experience with AI tools and transformation was discussed
I applied online. I interviewed at PayNearMe in Dec 2025
Interview
Over the course of 2 months, I had 7 interviews. I was told that I was one of four candidates remaining for two positions. In speaking with the leadership team in the last 3 interviews, two of the directors smirked and laughed when I asked when they planned to hire for the role and said "just hang in there". The entire process felt like a humiliation ritual, as I'm sure they already had individuals in mind that they wanted to hire, and were comfortable with wasting my time. The recruiter even called to tell me at 6:30 p.m. on a Friday, after waiting a week to hear back, that I was not selected. She stated that she was unable to share any info regarding why or give me any feedback for future improvement. I'm glad I went through the full process because it was a lesson learned and I will NEVER do it again for any other organization.
