I applied online. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at Penguin Random House (New York, NY) in May 2015
Interview
First a phone interview with a human resources representative, then an in person interview with the same person. After the HR interview I met with the publicists I would be working for. The questions asked were fairly similar between the two. Each lasted approximately a half an hour. In terms of publicity, they definitely want excited, energetic people. Don't be shy and definitely ask the interviewers questions and try to spark a conversation.
