answered a bunch of questions about how I would handle different scenarios. Overall pretty easy interview. Manager was nice as well. Needed to do a background check for it which took a week.
Simplistic, pretty much hired me on the spot. They asked me easy questions and had me sign a paper that same day. Getting an internal job hire was much easier, no interview process needed for that, atleast for my position that I was promoted to.
I applied online. The process took 3 weeks. I interviewed at PetSmart (Bloomington, IN) in Apr 2019
Interview
I applied online for a Groomer/Bather trainee position, but when I called the store to follow up the manager told me they weren't actually hiring that position currently, but the store had an opening in the petcare department, so I went ahead and accepted an interview for that. The interview was easy enough, and at the end I was told I'd hear back from them in a few days. The assigned day came and went and I heard nothing. So I called in the next day and the manager wasn't there. For the next two weeks I was given the run-around every time I called the store. Even when I was able to reach the manager she wouldn't speak with me, saying she was in the middle of something and would call back in a few minutes, or some other excuse. The staff all seemed friendly enough, but this treatment after my interview was very rude. It reminded me of a person trying to ghost you, not acceptable behavior for employers.
Note to the company: do not have applications available online for positions that are not available in store.
