Unorganized mess of a process over 6 weeks.
Applied via Indeed after being reached out to by them.
Quick phone interview with HR going over prior experience and scheduled an in person interview with the business manager for the following week. Showed up to the interview, but the manager had decided to work from home that day and did not notify me and interview was rescheduled for the following week as a phone call.
Lengthy phone interview with manager who explained that the role I had applied for was now being separated into two roles, a logistics manager and an account coordinator, but no written job descriptions were available yet. Scheduled an in-person interview for the next week with the business manager and company president. Countless red flags during the in person interview, as well as all communications being received outside of normal business hours in the late evenings. While waiting in the lobby, the receptionist and an employee were loudly complaining about being asked by senior management to complete a task that they had already done twice and was outside of their job duties. Business manager arrived 10 minutes late and president arrived over 30 minutes after that. Business manager described the company as a close-knit family because they spend so much time together working long days and covering for others. President had a very argumentative tone during the interview and explained that they were now combining these two roles into one role with the potential to hire another team member in the future. This role would have to be a jack of all trades and redevelop their logistics program while handling all shipments internationally and domestic, assist in the warehouse and with sales. No real questions were asked, mostly just the president making condescending comments about how intensely everybody on the team has to work. Interview was cut short and was rushed out of the office. Few days later the president of the company emailed insisting that I call him later that day, basically repeated the same conversation we had in person and he said that he would be making a decision within the next day. Over a week later I received an email stating that I would start the following week as Account Relations, a role that we had not discussed, with an insultingly low salary, costly benefits package and no PTO.
