I had been in contact with a manager / recruiter from a college career fair for about a year, and was invited to come on site in East Hartford after speaking with him again at a recent career fair. I was not interviewing for a specific position.
I stayed in a hotel the night before, and arrived at about 9am the next morning. I was escorted to my first interview from a security desk in the Engineering building. I interviewed with four different departments within Structures Engineering in the Hot Section-- a total of 5 interviews, a Practitioner time, and lunch with an associate. One of these interviews was a tour of the Customer Training Center coupled with occasional technical questions about mechanical systems in different parts of an engine on display. (Some of the questions I couldn't answer, but he gave me some pointers and I was able to figure them out) The practitioner time was an opportunity to speak with new employees about their experiences so far and the projects they were currently working on.
I heard back a week later with an offer.
