I applied online. I interviewed at Preferred Care at Home (Burlington, VT) in May 2026
Interview
I was invited to what was promised to be a "casual chat" about job details. Instead, I was blindsided by an intense, high-stress interview filled with aggressive behavioral questions. Telling a candidate a meeting is casual, only to ambush them with a high-stakes interview, shows a lack of integrity.
Interview questions [1]
Question 1
They demanded specific, detailed stories about personal obstacles I have overcome on the spot. As an autistic individual, I need time to process questions and structure my thoughts, especially regarding complex, personal storytelling. Blindsiding someone is not a test of skill.

Interview
Cattle call interview, informative and quick. Open honesty about the position. Kind people and pleasant environment. No fuss about the reality of the job, just blunt and honest. They understand it.is not for everyone.
It was very straight forward. Very nice interviewer was. Was very specific of the job title and was more than willing to answer my questions.Gave me background info of what my job title was and where i would be. Informed me of the pay and the areas i would be working in.
