Interview
I applied through instahyre and got R1 scheduled. I could see that the total time for the interview window was 15 minutes so I wasn't expecting lots of technical questions, but I did expect some sort of screening for actual 1st tech round.
He asked me my recent work ex which i described. Then he starts explaining the project I'd be working on and goes on to ask if I'd be open to coming in on holidays because they usuallu coincide with campaigns, I agreed ofc. Although I would've liked had he asked me if I could be in the office whenever my team needs me to like a professional AND engineer a reliable app at the same time. He goes on to downplay that this round is just brief intro btw us and threw hints about how my next round will be by someone senior from the relevant team. 9 minutes, and he was done. 2 hours later I get a mail that I'm not advancing to the next round.
Damn. I guess he didn't like the fact that my face didn't quite lit up with joy as he goes on to highlight how their team sweat when they get a spike in triffic from their usual 1.5m DAUs 🥶. Message to leaders: Hire better engineers and enjoy weekends and holidays with your family/loved ones, send them ai generated “good morning ji” pic or something, idk.
I applied through a recruiter. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at Primetrace (Bengaluru)
