      Account Executive Interview

      I interviewed at Resolver

      Interview

Recruiter reached out to me and we had a standard high-level conversation about experience and expectations. This was followed up by a case study, the questions were extremely poorly worded, it was hard to gauge what information they were looking for. I did not hear back from anyone after submitting the case study, so I had to follow up myself. In the last conversation I was told that they wanted to actually hire me for the BDR role, even though in my initial conversation I had told them that it would not align with my salary and responsibility expectations. Unfortunately it was all a waste of time. I would recommend more transparency in the future and to consider revising your case questions.

Hello there, We are sorry that you had a negative experience during the recruitment process. It is not our intention to waste a candidate's time, especially if they are not interested in a role. This is why we first ask a candidate's permission if they would like to be considered for a different role before we opt them into it ourselves. Next time, we will do a better job of communicating this to future candidates. We will also look at crafting our case study better as well. We appreciate your feedback and wish you the best of luck in your future endeavors! Thank you!

      Anonymous interview candidate
      Toronto, ON
      No offer
      Negative experience
      Easy interview

      Application

I applied through a recruiter. The process took 1 week. I interviewed at Resolver (Toronto, ON) in Aug 2018

      Interview

Bait and switch. Their in-house recruiter reached out to me on LinkedIn, saying they thought I would be a great fit for an account executive position. I agreed to a phone call under this premise. During the phone screen the recruiter decided to tell me they actually wanted me for a BDR position; a position I have absolutely no interest in. Quite frankly the whole experience was a massive waste of time. You reached out to me, not the other way around.

Hi there, We are sorry that you had a negative experience during our recruitment process. When we reach out to passive candidates, that means we think you'd be a great fit for Resolver! Due to the nature of the tech industry and our ever-evolving business, we sometimes have to pivot and change direction with our hiring needs, which can potentially impact the roles that we hire for. It seems like this unfortunately happened with the role that you applied for. It is not our intention to waste a candidate's time, especially if they are not interested in a role. This is why we first ask a candidate's permission if they would like to be considered for a different role before we opt them into it ourselves. Next time, we will do a better job of communicating this to future candidates. We appreciate your feedback, and wish you the best of luck in your future endeavors! Thank you!
