After reading reviews of the company, I was already nervous about this company, but decided to see if I could be an agent of change in their company culture at a leadership level.
I quickly found out I dodged a bullet. The call with the recruiter was very black and white check boxes. At the end they mentioned they had a rule about people within ~23 miles of the office had to come in 3 days a week. Which I am fine with as I just take the train in but I am outside that permiter and asked how much of my team would be there and since none of them would be there and no plans to focus hiring to where I would be going into the office, I guess my questions came off as I didn't want to go into the office.
Which I don't want to if my team isn't there. I can get a whole lot more done for my team and company if I don't have to commute in Austin traffic.
Thus that whole interaction just confirmed the company reviews that I had feared, where they only see black and white and no grey.
