Interview
I applied and got an email 2 days later asking to schedule in an initial 20-minute phone call. The call went great and lasted a little under 40mins. I spoke with Claire and she was lovely.
Following the call, I got an email with a link to do the test which was to re-create a weekly calendar picker in whatever language you felt comfortable with, I chose HTML/CSS/JS and spent the weekend working on the exercise.
I sent them back the test over the weekend and got a reply on Monday saying they'd pass it onto the team for some feedback.
A whole week passed and on the following Monday, I sent an email to touch base and see if I could get an update. 2 days later I get a reply saying they weren't going to progress me further. The feedback given was that my test wasn't an accurate reproduction of the UI.
I was a bit taken a back by this and went to check my test again and it looked pretty accurate, I took a screenshot of my test and their test side-by-side and the only real difference was a bit of vertical spacing.
I replied with my findings and gave them feedback that if they were after a pixel perfect recreation they should include that in the test requirements.
