There are typically two interviews, not too bad of an interview but managers do seem slightly judgmental and often ask questions in order to test your knowledge and how you 'handle conflict' it seems. Once you get hired, if you get lucky and get a good manager, you will have a great experience. Everyone has a different experience here with different supervisors/programs/precincts. It all depends on where you are placed.
I applied online. The process took 2 months. I interviewed at Safe Horizon (New York, NY) in May 2018
Interview
The whole process took about 2+ months... not worth it. Can find higher paying similar positions. First it was a phone interview, then a in person interview with two other people. Then an interview with the director (some do and some don't). Then wait a hefty long time for paperwork, background check etc.

Question 1
What do you think it will be like working in a precinct?
Pleasant phone interview with scheduled follow up interview for later in the week. Interview was scheduled within a week of submitting my application. Interviewer was friendly and gave useful information about the job and salary during the course of the conversation.
