I applied through an employee referral. The process took 1 week. I interviewed at Samsara in May 2019
Interview
It was fast total of 3 rounds:
1) HR or recruiter
2) Screen with one of the managers
3) In person. Interviewed with 4 people, 30min interviews
Honestly extremely disappointed. When I interviewed with the 4 people I asked at the end to each one how they would see me as an AE for Samsara. They all said "you would be perfect" or you would "fit in perfectly". They pumped me up to the extent to which i left with a very positive feeling and thought I would get the interview. One day passes and I get an email letting me know they have decided not to . move forward. As a "millennial" company which is what they consider themselves do not tell someone you are interviewing all these positive things to then let them down. Also I sent 3 emails throughout the process to which I received 0 responses. I asked what the main reason for their decision was and never heard back. Super unprofessional.
I first spoke with a recruiter for the screening process, which took about 25 minutes. She was late, but was very nice and provided tips on what they're looking for. She sent a lot of follow up information to prep for the next interview round. I then met with the hiring manager who did a deeper dive into numbers and expectations.
5 rounds in total, 1 with HR, 1 with a Sales Manager, then 3 in 1 day: Manager, Director and another Director. Very low acceptance rate. Must demonstrate growth mindset, specific deal metrics, and a natural drive.
