I talked with 6-7 different folks during the interview process and wrote a detailed 5 page product strategy document on their current product quandary. They called to tell me I didn’t get it and when I asked for more details (there was none) she said she’d be happy to get additional feedback for me considering the time I put in … and then ghosted me despite additional follow ups.

Interview
I went through a long and thorough recruitment process for a role in Europe, having been headhunted for the position. After investing over 10 hours, including 7 hours of interviews with various leadership members and preparing a detailed case study, I received a generic rejection email. This was disappointing, particularly after accommodating late-night interviews (10-11pm Europe time) to fit PST schedules. Given the time and effort I dedicated, I expected a more personal response—at least a brief call to explain why they wouldn’t be moving forward, along with proper feedback, rather than the standard “we found a better fit” message. While that may be true, offering candidates meaningful feedback is simply good practice. The way a company manages its recruitment process reflects how they treat their people.

Interview was set with hiring manager - received a message 20 minutes before the interview that the hiring manager was not available, I had a conversation with the HR recruiter, where I was told the interview would be rescheduled, however a few days later I received a template email saying that my application was not successful without any explanation.
