One of the most straightforward interview processes ever.
Applied through the portal Vettery. The recruiter was quick to set up initial call. She told about the company and the position. Mentioned that even though the position says "Full Stack Developer", the role would be aligned to my strengths and preferences. She took down the days I was available for the interview.
One thing that stood out was they only do interviews (phone or on site) only on Mondays and Fridays. Another thing was they cared more about the ability to code and design a working solution for the given problem rather than leetcode knowledge.
In the phone screen I was asked to design and implement data structures and methods that would best solve a particular inventory tracking for fleets. The interviewer was very clear in what to test for and was well prepared with the questions and cues in case I was stuck.
Once I was able to clear the phone screen, I was invited over to SF headquarters for the on-site.
It started with a product demo to give a feel of the system that we would be working on as a developer at Samsara.
Those interviews were similar in experience to the phone screen. Clear, concise and evaluating the ability to code in the given time.
They were quick to give and offer (just in 3 days) and the offer was very competitive for a startup.
They were able to accommodate my ask for being able to work with a team in San Jose office so that I would not have to commute to SF from south bay area.
