Submitted resume for the position of Model Maker online. Received a phone call the next day from the shop supervisor. I had a phone interview of about an hour with the supervisor and was told I would be a perfect fit for the job based on my qualifications and work experience. Two weeks later I contacted the supervisor and was informed that 85% of the staff currently working in the model shop will be retiring within the next ten years. The company was considering hiring a less experienced person (younger) due to the age of the current staff. I was informed that I was on the "short list" for experienced candidates to be interviewed. I was also told if I had an offer from another company I should consider taking it. A week later I received a call from the supervisor stating that Schneider was going with a less experienced candidate. I never had any contact with HR until I received an email stating that I did not meet the criteria for the position; this was a week after I was told that they were going with a less experienced candidate. I have tried to contact the HR department via email to find out what criteria other than age I did not meet. A week and a half later; no response.
