I applied online for the intern position, however I don't know why, the HRs contacted me to know whether I was interested in the fresh grad position. I wasn't in Singapore, but the HRs told me that they would sponsor the visa if I passed the interviews.
1. Online Coding test, contains some MCQs and 2 leetcode-easy equivalent coding problems. The time limit was 1 hour and it took me roughly 30 mins. Fairly easy. Tricky JS fundamentals.
2. Phone interview with HR. HR contacted me to know more about me. "give an introduction about yourself, your proudest project, your salary expectation, your opinion about Shopee",... (20-30 mins)
3. Virtual technical interview via Zoom with a senior developer from your future team. 1.5 hours and all are codings, not many theoretical questions. Javascript + Frontend fundamental and CSS. I like the practicality of this instead of vague theoretical questions from other companies like "describe how React works under the hood".
4. Virtual technical interview via Zoom with a senior developer from another team. 1.5 hours, you're expected to accomplish at least 2 problems (me was exactly 2). If you can solve more, better for you. You'll use JS, but this round will be less about JS or Frontend, none CSS, instead it's more about software engineering in general.
5. Interview via Zoom with your future Team Lead. 60 mins, 15-20 mins to talk about your experience, 15-30 mins to solve a Frontend problem. 15-20 mins left for asking questions. Do prepare a bunch of meaningful questions if you're serious about applying. This round performance will affect your salary given in the offer round, so don't think you're done after you passed 2 technical rounds, the team lead round was the smoothest for me btw, by the team lead he was super nice and kind.
6. Offer, the HRs called me via Zoom to give me a salary package higher than my expectation, so no need to negotiate. Remember to perform well in the last interview with your future boss, it will affect this. If you have competing offers, for example from Google and you describe the aspirations of working at Shopee, might be they'll give you an even more competitive package, idk.
