They focus on pricing, so they have pricing cases specifically. Nice interviewer. However, candidates need to prepare for the pricing case or will be confused about the case. Behavioral questions not traditional.
I applied online. The process took 3 weeks. I interviewed at Simon-Kucher in May 2012
Interview
The process started with a phone interview with one of the office directors - it involved some behavioral questions but mostly a case. I was then flown to the office for a day of interviews with 4 people (should have been 5) including a lunch out with one of the consultants. I spoke with one partner and two managing directors, all of them gave cases except for the lunch "date." I then had a follow up phone interview with a partner that I wasn't able to meet before leaving the area. All in all, the office was made up of great people and SKP has a great approach to consulting and their specialty. They may seem a little disorganized, as I had two calls that were forgotten and had to be rescheduled, among other symptoms.
I applied through university. I interviewed at Simon-Kucher
Interview
Applied through my school's Handshake for the Consultant intern position for undergrads.
First round interview was 45-min, and was essentially a case interview with a few mins of questions and "tell me about yourself" mixed in.
I was told I passed the first-round interview about 4-5 days later, and schedule a second-round interview a few weeks later.
The second-round consisted of 3 case interviews and 1 lunch (semi-behavioral) interview. Each interview was with a different interviewer. Each of the case interviews also had different behavioral questions mixed in. The cases usually focused on Revenue-growth and pricing and rarely touched costs.
The lunch interview was a relaxed interview with some behavioral components mixed in.
