Slow process, excessive interview expectations, 20k below industry standard salary. (50k-60k) I applied for a role in early December 2022, and had an initial interview in mid January 2023. There was no screening interview, instead the first interview was with the hiring manager 1:1 and was roughly 60 minutes. This was a fairly normal and easy interview with a few technical questions and a few general background and experience questions. At the end of the interview Thursday, I was told I would be sent a Test Data Project which would take a few hours to complete and was due by the end of the day on Saturday. Since the interview was on Thursday, this gave me 1 full business day to complete a project that ended up taking upwards of 6-8 hours to complete. This is completely unreasonable as a test project, especially considering my years of experience and portfolio that houses multiple data centric projects that showcase my ability as an analyst. There was radio silence for just shy of two weeks before I was sent a boiler plate rejection email from a no reply address. No feedback for the project I spent 8 hours of my time on and no reason for rejection besides "receiving many qualified applicants".
