I went through a 3-month interview process which involved multiple stages, back-to-back interviews, and a significant time commitment across several weeks.
From early on, communication was inconsistent. Updates were often delayed, and in several instances I had to chase for basic information regarding timelines and next steps. This lack of clarity made the process unnecessarily difficult to navigate as a candidate.
Despite progressing to the final stage and being informed I was one of two remaining candidates, the process continued to drag on for several more weeks while internal decisions were made. During this time, I was engaged in discussions around salary expectations and potential start dates, which indicated the process was close to conclusion.
Ultimately, I was informed via email that the role had been put on hold and the hiring process closed entirely. There was no final conversation, and no acknowledgement of the level of time invested throughout the process.
While the individuals I spoke to during interviews were professional and provided positive feedback, the overall hiring experience felt disorganised, poorly managed, and lacking transparency. For candidates investing significant time over multiple stages, the process did not feel respectful of that commitment.
