I applied online. The process took 1 week. I interviewed at SpaceX (New York, NY) in Nov 2016
Interview
Was pretty straightforward, the engineer was pretty chill and introduced himself a bit at first and said why he wanted to interview me (our similar backgrounds and what stood out on my resume). He then asked me a few questions about project work I listed on my resume and then he asked technical questions based on what I described from what I've done. He was working in the turbomachinery department at spacex and interestingly enough he asked about some aircraft restoration work I've done (was listed on resume). When I mentioned a few technical terms, he asked me technical questions such as why an aircraft would have such a design/shape and a few questions on the equation for lift and the types of pressures. I figured it was all pretty relevant since his department does heavy fluid/CFD work with the actual rocket turbomachinery. What kinda sucked was that the recruiter told me to study up on the rocket engines since this was the turbomachinery department (boy did I study about those merlin/raptor engines and fuel cycles!) and in the end I wasn't asked anything about them. No biggy though, never know what spacex exactly has in mind when interviewing students :)
I applied online, and a recruiter reached out a few months later to set up my first interview with a Team Lead. It went well so I moved onto the second interview with the Team Manager. Both interviews were extremely technical and they grilled you on your projects.
The interview started off with the interviewer asking a few behavioral questions, with the majority of the interview consisted of technical questions about engineering fundamentals and applying them to scenarios
Interview questions [1]
Question 1
Which pillar in a rigid structure bears the most weight?
Very simple questions, but very specific to the role. There were multiple rounds, and each round was different. Again, very specific to the role and i was rejected for one position, then my former interviews were used to determine my qualification for a different position.

Question 1
They asked me technical questions about RLC circuit analysis and how to measure voltage and current.
