I applied online. I interviewed at SpaceX in Nov 2020
Interview
Phone screen with recruiter, talked about my resume and my interest and why SpaceX. The recruiter was good at communicating about the interview updates and scheduling. He would call first then email the details, very good job on their end.
Next, interviewed with Lead Manufacturing Engineer. The session includes talking about my work accomplishments and a few technical questions. I wasn't expecting any technical questions and I wasn't prepared, but so I wasn't very confident in my answer.
A month later, I receive a generic rejection email.

Question 1
Tell me about your greatest accomplishments.
Let say you have a scuba tank and you want to perform a pressure test, would you use water or air?
Phone screen with recruiter followed by two phone calls with engineers and then an on-site interview where you present a presentation on a topic of your choice. Also other technical interviews on site as well.
Got reached out to by a recruiter on LinkedIn. Setting up an interview time was easy. The first interview screening was basically describing your past experiences. The second interview is technical. Whole process took a week.
Technical interview, pretty simple beam questions. Interview with lead engineer was about different machining/bonding techniques. Not a bad process. The recruiter was pretty responsive. Did not get another interview after interview with lead.
