Interview
I went through 7 interviews. During one of them, I spoke with the owner. I applied for one position, but they redirected me to another, and they didn't disclose the salary until the very end. Finally, they made an offer that was twice as low as the market rate. After that, they sent me for an interview with the team's tech lead. From that interview, it seemed like they were ready to hire me (he even explained how the work process would unfold). In the end, I received a rejection, citing a lack of knowledge. I asked which specific topics I should improve on, but received a standard response about company secrets. After spending two months on interviews, I am dissatisfied with this feedback and the generic response. I feel like I wasted my time. I do not recommend interviewing with this company because they keep you waiting for too long, only to try to hire good specialists for very little pay.
Talked to 3 different recruiters before finally meeting one for an intro call. Seems like they're running a high-volume operation with little concern for human interaction. After that I received an online coding test that was ridiculous in its expectations. Worst experience I've ever had with a coding test. Unreasonable time limit, bizarre instructions (don't research or use help forums?!) and creepy requirement to film myself the entire time. 3 hours of my time wasted.
